Forest Therapy For All
The benefits of Forest Therapy have been scientifically and medically proven to:
-
Stress Reduction: Numerous studies show that time in the forest significantly lowers levels of the stress hormone cortisol, as well as adrenaline and noradrenaline. This leads to a reduction in overall stress and promotes a sense of tranquility.
-
Cardiovascular Health: Forest environments can lead to a decrease in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure and a lower heart rate. This reduced cardiovascular stress can help in the management and prevention of hypertension.
-
Enhanced Immune Function: Inhaling phytoncides (natural essential oils released by trees) has been linked to an increase in the number and activity of natural killer (NK) cells, a type of white blood cell that helps the body fight off tumors and virus-infected cells. This immune boost can last for several days or even up to a month after a forest visit.
-
Improved Mental Well-being: Forest therapy has been shown to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, fatigue, and confusion, while increasing feelings of vigor and general well-being. It can also aid in recovery from trauma and PTSD.
-
Better Sleep Quality: Studies suggest that forest bathing can improve sleep quality, help regulate circadian rhythms, and increase total sleep time.
-
Enhanced Cognitive Function: Interacting with nature can improve attention, focus, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
-
Pain Reduction: Even viewing nature from a window has been associated with less pain and a faster recovery time in hospital patients.
We believe that the tools to access the incredible gifts and wisdom of the natural world should be available to all. We offer micro-experiences for younger participants and full length Forest Therapy Walks. We aim to make the micro-experiences free of charge and currently offer our full length walks on a donation based system. All are welcome, no-one will ever be turned away.

Activism will look and feel different for us all. Perhaps you bring the gift of nurture, and your expression of Wild Hope is caring for the land and those around you. Or your gift is organizing community to stand up for all that is good and right, bringing light to the dark. When the actions we are called to take come from the depths of our being, we are beginning to understand the path to our unique offerings, opening the door to the Wild Hope we are here to activate.
Sign up for updates and join a Forest Therapy Walk, come to an event, read our founders new book, Resilient Activism: Igniting Wild Hope in Uncertain Times - the opportunities will continue to flow. Join Us.
