Our Initiatives

We believe all life has an inherent right to flourish and thrive. Our Initiatives hold our work that makes this truth a reality.

Technology of Nature

At Center for Wild Hope we connect those driving our current manmade technology with those sharing the wisdom of the technology of nature, creating pathways for innovation that honors all life.

When you search “Technology of Nature” you will find an abundance of articles on “Technology for Nature” sharing all the ways technology is advancing solutions to the problems plaguing nature and the planet as a whole. Finding information though on the incredible wisdom nature holds to solve the problems of today, independent of manmade technology, is incredibly challenging.

Biomimicry plays an important role in understanding the gifts of nature, and our deep interconnection with all life.  The Biomimicry Institute and Biomimicry for Social Innovation are doing important work to reconnect us to the wisdom of nature.

The piece missing from the conversations directly calls out AI, and the lightning speed acceleration of technological advancements that are destroying the very planet that supports our existence. Not only are natural “resources” needed in order for this technology to function and grow, but these advancements are happening completely devoid of the truth that the natural world can give us everything we need.

In order for that statement to be true though - we have to remember the role we are here to play in the greater cycle of life. If we continue to see humanity as superior to all other beings, we have lost the game. We will continue to consume ourselves out of existence. And could that truly be why we are here? Do we exist simply to create and consume at the expense of all other beings? The answer for us is a hard no. We believe we are here to play a role in the manifestation of a world that honors all. We believe we stand in circle with the trees, the rocks, the stars, the wind, the water, with you, the list is endless.

So when we share that the Technology of Nature is one of our core initiatives - we are giving voice to the truth of our interconnection and the deep wisdom available all around us. We are putting all of our energy into eliminating the “power over paradigm” that dictates this current, collective moment.

We are creating avenues for connection, education, conversation and collaboration that ensures all of life flourishes together.

Please join us in these efforts.

Forest Therapy for All

Remembering and reconnecting to the healing power of nature.

The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy was founded in 2012 by M. Amos Clifford and is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, literally translating to Forest Bathing. Their motto is: The forest is the therapist, the guide opens the door.

Forest Therapy is a practice encouraging us to find stillness among the more-than-human world. We have evolved alongside these incredible beings, and science is proving the incredible health benefits of spending time in nature. It regulates our nervous systems, reduces cortisol levels, increases memory capacity, activates our NK cells that attack cancer, and so much more.

We believe that this simple and profound practice should be accessible to all. We work to make this a reality by partnering with Forest Therapy Guides offering scholarships, partnerships, collaborations, and more.

Support this work reconnecting all to the healing power of nature.

Building Resiliency

This moment is asking us to dig deep and take a stand for the things that matter most to us in the world.

Center for Wild Hope is building resiliency through our Community Resilience work and Resilient Activism offerings.

Resilient Activism is about taking care of ourselves while also taking a stand for the injustices and inequity we are witnessing and experiencing in our communities and the world. It is about remembering where we gather our strength, and honoring our unique gifts while learning to stand in them in a way that creates lasting change.

Our ability to become resilient is directly linked with our ability to remember our interconnection to all life. We have evolved alongside of the trees the plants, the insects, the birds, the more-than-human world. Our resilience will be found in our reconnection.

Our offerings within Resilient Activism include:

Resilient Activism: Igniting Wild Hope in Uncertain Times by our founder, Laurie Benson (Coming July 2025)

Many of us feel called to move into action and take a stand against injustices we are witnessing in the world and in our communities. We all have unique gifts that we are meant to nurture and share. Our ability to do this in a way that honors the well-being of all life is critical.

In Resilient Activism, you will move through experiences, stories, and Indigenous wisdom that will bring you into a deeper relationship with the world around you. Together, we are ushering in a new story for humanity and the planet, the role you play is important.

Resilient Activism through Forest Therapy:

This is a time of activation and engagement. It requires a resiliency that cannot be obtained until we begin to reconnect and remember our interconnection to the wild world. This is where Forest Therapy plays a beautiful role in our activation. It creates a container for people to be held while exploring reconnecting and finding the stillness in nature that points them back to their own true strength and gifts.
